2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The main character in our film Yaroslava Migur (Me) represents that of the main character in ‘Cinderella Story', the girl played by Hillary Duff. Both of these characters are similar as they both play the female, clumsy girls with a happy ending.
Personally i find they compliment one another due to their similar stereotypical features such as the comparison in mise-en-scene.
For example the costumes used in both our film and ‘Cinderella Story' are normal cloths, more like old fashion ‘jeans or skirts’. The settings used for our film is again similar to that of ‘Cinderella Story' as its in her bedroom but in our movie main character is more artistic. We chose to use a room location because it shows girls how they live and what they like. We tried to use certain stereotypical features when it came to the mise-en-scene of our film such as the costumes, lighting, settings and cinematography.
